2012 Great Texas Warrant Round-Up |
|
02/08/2012

The City of Sweeny
Police Department will be among more than 300 law enforcement jurisdictions across Texas
(75 from the Gulf Coast region) participating in the “2012 Great Texas Warrant Round-Up” which
officially begins Saturday, February 25, 2012. The Sweeny Municipal
Court and the Sweeny Police Department will join other regional participants in this
statewide annual event to target people who have outstanding warrants
with their respective Municipal Courts.
The City of Sweeny has
hundreds of active warrants it is seeking to clear. Municipal Court officials
are encouraging defendants to take advantage of one of the options
available to settle outstanding warrants immediately. NO AMNESTY is being
offered in conjunction with the Round-Up effort.
Once the enforcement period
begins on February 25th, Texas Law Enforcement officers will aggressively
target those persons with outstanding warrants, and arrests can take
place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school, or
workplace.
Notices are being mailed
to all Sweeny Municipal Court defendants with active warrants.
Citizens with warrants in jurisdictions other than the City of
Sweeny should contact those jurisdictions for information about how
to clear those warrants. A complete list of participating
Regional Partners can be found at
www.houstontx.gov/courts.
